Since Google cock-blocked Cyanogen(mod) from distributing his custom build for the T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream)... NOW we have Cyanogen(mod) version 4.1.999! This is the 1st LEGAL open source modification to the android 1.6 (donut) release. Simply put, no modifications to the "proprietary" applications that shipped on the phone (i.e. gmail, gmaps,android market) were made and we now have the Cyanogen mod at ver. 4.1.999 ! Still need root (developers) access to phone to pull the hack, but super easy. THEN, just restore your your apps and phone/homescreen data (I used MyBackup) and, voila. Now I can use all the "google" attributes that make the G1 the "GooglePhone". True live syncing Gmail, calendar, Google Maps, and of course Android Market. JOY.
